The fight is set to take place on Saturday, August 26, 2017. The time has not been confirmed as of yet. Most likely a late night for UK viewers, we estimate a 4 AM fight time will make sense and we highly doubt it will be any earlier. The official broadcast starts at 2am BST.
It would be a dream to hold this in Ireland, however, it is the obvious choice of La Vegas. The T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas Strip, Nevada. Same setting as UFC 202, when McGregor beat Nate Diaz.
A new arena for Las Vegas, but for fights to date, it has provided some great bouts!

This is what everybody wants to know. It will be a boxing match. So the odds are favouring Mayweather right? No mixed martial arts for McGregor this time. Mayweather is one the greatest defensive boxers of all time. Can he put in one last performance to seal his greatness even further. The small UFC gloves will be replaced with 10-ouce boxing gloves, adding extra weight on the arms of McGregor. Both fighters are expected to weigh in around 154 pounds according to Dana White.
The fight will undoubtedly be the biggest purse of all time. Ring-side seats alone cost a staggering $100,000, with the lowest price tickets being $500. The ring-side seats attendees include stars such as Jamie Foxx, with rumours that President Donald Trump may show up for the grand fight.
The fight is expected to take +5 million Pay Per Views which will bring net cash revenue of circa $500 Million. The sponsorship is likely to hit nearly $25 Million, whilst betting in Nevada alone is expected to reach +$30 Million, international investment and media deals will top $35 Million and merchandise is expected to go over the $2 Million mark.
The exact fight purse split isn’t yet known due to a confidentiality agreement, however, reports suggest a 70/30 split in Mayweather’s favour.
Mayweather is coming out of retire for this one-off historical fight. He is unbeaten 49-0 which is a boxing record. If Mayweather wins he’ll exceed Rocky Marciano who also finished his career 49-0. Without a doubt, Mayweather is one the best defensive fighters of all time.
As for McGregor, he was the first UFC fighter to hold two belts at the same time. He has always backed up his talk with explosive knockouts. Recently proving he can also go the long haul as he did against Nate Diaz. Can he realistically beat one of the greatest all round boxers?

“The only thing I am chasing is my own records. And I mean pay-per-view records. We have to give the people what they want to see. The fans demand that fight; we have to give them what they want to see to make them happy.”
“This guy said I’m a p***y, I’m scared, I’m a chicken. All 49 said the same thing and all the results were the same.”
“When I was a young fighter I could brag and boast and say I’m going to take his a** and do this and that. I’m Floyd Mayweather. But once I reached the top I didn’t have anything to say.”
“Watch me take over boxing, trust me on that,” McGregor told the media. “Watch me step in and shock the whole damn world. I’m 28, a confident motherr f****r, long, rangy, dangerous with both hands. Believe me, I’m going to step in there and knock out Floyd and you’re all going to eat your words. I am boxing.”
“He’s 40 years of age. He’s a little…he’s got a little head on him. Honestly, my fist is bigger than his head. I sleep people. I put people unconscious. I’m stating facts. If I hit that man, his head is gonna go into the bleachers. You understand that? If I crack that little head of his, it’s gonna go clean off his shoulders and up into the bleachers.”
